HOUSE J

Home J is located on prime of a excessive hill, on the sting of a single-family housing space. The architectural idea is predicated on the location: the constructing has a closed rear in the direction of the North and East the place the neighboring homes are, and it opens to the South and West, in the direction of a pure forest. The home curves round an previous pine tree, forming a lap with a sunny and sheltered courtyard. The free kind and luxurious backyard create a distinction to the oblong constructing.

The peak of the constructing is rigorously fitted to the elevation of the adjoining buildings. The flooring are usually not located on prime of one another. The cantilevered first ground creates a cover for the doorway on the bottom ground, whereas the roof of the bottom ground creates a terrace skirting across the courtyard on the primary ground. From the bottom ground lounge you’ve gotten a panoramic view to the courtyard, from the primary ground bedrooms you’ve gotten lengthy views over the neighborhood.

The flooring are related by an open stairway with wood steps hanging from skinny steel bars harking back to tree trunks within the close by forest. The identical theme of levitating wood planks continues within the sauna room.

The concrete load bearing partitions are left uncovered within the inside areas. The window frames and doorways manufactured from oak, create a heat counterpart for the concrete surfaces. The artworks on the partitions add a splash of shade for the inside.

In the course of the design section, the power use of the constructing was simulated so design options might be optimized to save lots of power. The constructing is heated with geothermal warmth and floor cooling is used for air con.

The consumer wished timeless structure and well-functioning premises for a household of 5. The undertaking was designed in shut co-operation with the long run residents: we virtually designed the home collectively.
